2014 GUIDE TO GALAXY EXHIBITION

Master jeweler and craftsman Minoru Takagi exhibits for the first time at his daughter’s store.

Minoru Takagi created 71 copper masks that are made to snap onto the MASK UAMOU figures, an additional 8 large masks for the GALAXY REAL UAMOU (hand painted by Master Goto) and 20 copper winged SERAPH MINI UAMOU. The masks are carefully handmade and hammered in to shape. Each mask features a different design and is either set with stones, decorated with hand chiselled patterns, treated with fire to give the copper different color hues or it features a combination of these techniques.

Minoru Takagi has a vivid imagination and he considers his creations as children of the universe. His designs often feature star maps and celestial bodies and in his own words he describes the MASK UAMOU as guides of the galaxy, helping lost souls back on their true path. The GALAXY REAL UAMOU have a bit more of an intricate description, their appearance is a mere afterimage that stood witness to the unimaginable brightness and brevity of the Big Bang expansion.

高木実（パパモウ）はUAMOUの目入れ、キーホルダーやストラップの金具制作、UAMOUジュエリーラインの制作など多くのUAMOU作品の制作に携わっています。今回の個展では宇宙をテーマにさまざまな作品を発表しています。「マスクウアモウ」「マスクギャラクシーリアルウアモウ」　銅板を叩いて作られたUAMOUのマスク。タガネによる彫りで宇宙が表現されています。「セラフウアモウ」細かな羽の表現が美しい天使になったウアモウ。「キラキラウアモウ」ソフトビニールフィギュアに直接石留めされたジルコニアの石。石留め職人ならではの作品が完成しました。
