Japan is a country that is very much recognised for its craftsmanship and even in these modern times Japanese society keeps their artisans and master craftsmen in high regards.  Taito ward in east Tokyo is an area well known for its studios, factories and specialised manufacture. Since 2011 they have started to celebrate craftsmanship through their popular  MONOMACHI event in which more than 45 shops, ateliers and even factories and workplaces that are normally off limits, open their doors to the public. You can join the fun by downloading an english map for MONOMACHI 2014. STUDIO UAMOU will be participating as well and you can pick up a guide and a map at our store or any other participating venue in Taito-Ku.

2011年から始まった「モノマチ」は、古くから製造／卸の集積地としての歴史をもつ台東区南部・徒蔵（カチクラ）エリア（御徒町～蔵前～浅草橋にかけての２km四方の地域）を歩きながら、「街」と「ものづくり」の魅力に触れていただく３日間のイベントです。今年は200組を上回るモノづくり系企業やショップ、職人、クリエイター、飲食店等の参加が決定しました。
