Studio Uamou has been looking towards the medium of animation for a long time and since 2013 Ayako Takagi and Niko Lanzuisi have had continuous talks about how to adapt Uamou for the screen. As we have stated before it is still too early to announce any kind of serious production but we have actively been testing out some ideas, some of which found their way to the Sogni Strani exhibition.
Ayako’s work and Niko’s animation were produced simultaneously and by taking hints from each other’s work they have tried to make the exhibition a cohesive experience.
The animation has been received with enthusiasm which encourages us to continue adapting Uamou for the screen. Just thinking about an Uamou animation series is very exciting to us and we shall work hard to make that happen in the near future.

UAMOU：アニメーションの世界へ
STUDIO UAMOUは長い間、アニメーションの制作に向けて表現の方法を探し求めてきました。そしてそれはクリエイティブディレクター、ニコ・ランズイシとの大きな課題の１つでもあります。
“完成”と言える最終的なアニメーションを発表するにはまだ早い段階ですが、展覧会”SOGNI STRANI”を通して様々なアイデアを積極的にテストすることができました。展覧会で展示している平面と立体の作品制作と、ニコのアニメーションは同時に制作を進めました。お互いの作品からヒントを得る事により、融合したよりまとまりのある作品になったのではないかと思います。
今回発表したアニメーション”Sogni Strani”は多くの方から激励の言葉をいただき、そのひとつひとつにとても勇気づけられました。
UAMOUのアニメーションシリーズを実現する為に、今後も技術を磨き、日々の制作に励み、キャラクターの表現方法と可能性を追求していきます。
