Today we have opened the “UAMOU to TENGU to” exhibition at our Atelier shop in Okachimachi!
Tengu Art has created a special customised series of Tengu Mask Uamou, Fukumen Tengu Uamou and a collection of original illustrations and we are very happy to see that the first batch of Tengu mask Uamou have been sold out within the first hour! But please do not be discouraged, Tengu Arts has started the production of a second series of Tengu Mask Uamou that will be available for sale starting this weekend.
We are very grateful for everyone that has come to visit us at the opening of the exhibition and we invite you to come visit us again this weekend when we release the second series of Tengu Uamou!
TENGU ART
Okayama born Hatase Ren, graduated from Seian University of Art and Design in 2000 and runs his own studio near Okachimachi Station. After graduation he has been working as a freelance designer taking mostly illustration and graphic design work before moving onto lay-out design and character design.
In 2010 he started creating his own brand of works under the Tengu Art Banner. He was shocked to realise that before he started Tengu Art he barely knew anything about this intriguing character. He likes Tengu and he figured that by creating many works based on the legendary demon he would also be able to study its enticing background story as well.

てんぐアートプロフィール：
畠瀬廉 / Ren Hatase
1974年生まれ 岡山県出身成安造形大学卒業2000年に上京。イラストカットを描く仕事を頂いてから細々とフリーランスで食いつなぐ。デザインの仕事も紹介していただき、雑誌の紙面構成などをしつつ、DVDジャケットのデザイン、Tシャツデザイン、ロゴデザイン、キャラクターデザインなどいろいろやる。
2010年、仕事以外で自由に創作活動をしたくなり、天狗をモチーフにしたものを作る「てんぐアート」を始める。なぜ天狗なのか。いろいろ理由はありますが、日本人なら誰でも知っているモチーフで表現することで、まず興味を持ってもらえるのではないか、と考えたからです。また、天狗のことって案外知らない。それを調べながら創作するのは一石二鳥でもあった訳です。どんなことになろうも、天狗活動、死ぬまでやる覚悟でございます。
