Early this month we have opened the “NOSTALGIE” Exhibition at Yamanekoken in Ogose, Saitama Prefecture.”NOSTALGIE” is a collaboration exhibition between Ayako Takagi and Mai Nagamoto and exhibits painted works and customised figures that were born from a sense of nostalgia.
Today we are having a closer look at the illustrated works by Ayako Takagi which were created especially for the exhibition. More than 30 illustrations rendered in coloured pencils and crayons invoking memories of a childhood passed are displayed prominently in the exhibition space. Each Drawing represents a simple thought or wish that longs for a more simpler time. Visitors might be surprised to see that Uamou himself was asked to make some work for the exposition as well. It is clear to see that he is at an age where he is mostly interested in Superheroes, Pirates and Outer-space as those appear to be the main themes of his drawings.
Yamanekoken might be a tiny bit remote from the center of Tokyo but it will definitely be rewarding for all who will make the effort to travel to the exhibition. Enjoying art, music and the excellent food served by the owner, all within the peaceful embrace of the mountain forest will make for a trip not easily forgotten.

ノスタルジーの世界へ
UAMOU作者・高木綾子と、画家・ナガモトマイによる、ふたり展「NOSTALGIE」が、埼玉県越生の山中にあるギャラリィ&カフェ山猫軒にて10月25日(日)まで開催中。
ノスタルジーをテーマに、絵と立体作品を発表。
本日ご紹介するのは高木綾子のイラストレーション作品です。今回の展示のために30枚以上の絵を製作いたしました。
淡色系を中心にカラフルな色鉛筆で描かれた作品は、こどもの頃の記憶を甦らせるような、懐かしい感覚を見る人に呼び覚ませるような表現がされています。そしてそれぞれの絵には、シンプルながらも心に突き刺さる言葉が添えられています。
高木綾子の今までの作品には、これだけの「色」や「文字」を使った作品は少なく、今回のために挑戦し確立したとも言える新たなスタイルで描かれた作品が多く展示されております。高木綾子が表現するノスタルジーの世界を是非お楽しみください。
